Premier Drama Actress Lovi Poe remains loyal to GMA

May 17, 2013 - GMA’s premier drama actress Lovi Poe was warmly welcomed by GMA Network officers as she inked an exclusive contract with GMA Network Inc.

Acknowledged as today’s multi-awarded actress, Lovi feels very excited to renew her ties with GMA where she launched her career in 2006 with Bakekang and topbilled several Kapuso programs Legacy and Yesterday’s Bride. “It’s nice to be back home,” she said.

During the contract signing, Atty. Gozon expressed his gladness on Lovi as a loyal Kapuso. When you look at her and watch her perform, you’ll see kung ano yung nakita namin… isang magaling na artista.”

On the other hand, Ms. Lilybeth acknowledges Lovi’s prowess in drama. ”Natutuwa kami. This is where she started, where she grew up and developed her talents. She has a series on primetime coming up. That’s what she’ll do first because she’s a dramatic actress. That’s where she’s good at.”

Present in the contract signing were (from left) GMA Entertainment TV’s Officer-in-Charge Lilybeth G. Rasonable, Lovi Poe, GMA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, GMA AVP for Alternative Productions Gigi Santiago-Lara and Leo Dominguez (Lovi’s manager).

Yesterday’s Bride wins in tv ratings nationwide

Yesterday’s Bride, topbilled by GMA’s most in-demand actress Lovi Poe with Rocco Nacino consistently outscores the programs of the rival network since it aired last October 29.

Based on National Urban TV Audience Measurement (NUTAM) overnight ratings gathered by the more widely recognized TV ratings supplier, Nielsen TV Audience Measurement, Yesterday’s Bride marked an average household tv rating of 14.8% and ruled over its counterpart program Angelito: Ang Batang Yugto which only garnered an average of 8.6% from October 29 to December 15, 2012.

For the period December 17, 2012 to January 11, 2013, YB beats rival network’s newly aired program MMK Klasiks. YB registered a commanding average tv rating of 14.8% while the competing program only scored an average of 8.1%.

YB was also consistently ahead of competitors in the viewer-rich areas of Mega Manila and Urban Luzon proving that the Kapuso network is undoubtedly the undisputed cradle of superior quality afternoon dramas.

As the story of Yesterday’s Bride progresses, many twists and turns will happen in the life of Andrea. Will she and Justin rekindle their love for one another?

Don’t miss the exciting episodes of Yesterday’s Bride on GMA’s Afternoon Prime block.

Award-winning stars Dingdong and Lovi team up on the big screen via “Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles”

“Filmmaking is about taking risks,” says Erik Matti, writer and director of the biggest horror adventure of 2012, Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles.

What else would you call the movie’s astronomical budget, the decision to shoot it entirely on green screen and have a bad boy character as the film’s main protagonist?

The concept immediately appealed to lead actor Dingdong Dantes who is playing against type in this project. “Collaborating with Erik Matti and executive producer Dondon Monteverde allowed me to break out of the stereotype of my roles on TV and in the movies.”

Dingdong plays Makoy, a devil-may-care guy who finds himself trapped in a situation that no person in his right mind would wish upon himself. When he comes to the province to reconcile with his estranged girlfriend Sonia, portrayed by the award-winning actress Lovi Poe, who is heavy with their firstborn, Dingdong’s character must device a way to keep his loved ones from safe and alive from an army of aswangs. “It is such an ambitious project and I am happy that I accepted it,” shares Lovi.

From the get-go, the concept was clear-headed. Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles was designed as a siege film. “It was about a group of people with their own dynamics, trapped in one setting with the danger constantly hounding them outside of that setting,” shares Direk Erik.

A co-production venture of Reality Entertainment, Agostodos Pictures, Reality Entertainment’s sister companies and post-production arms PostManila and Mothership, and GMA Films, Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles was not an easy endeavor to undertake.  “We were challenged because the movie was going to be shot entirely on green screen, the first time it’s being done in the Philippines,” says Dondon Monteverde.

Post-production work proved to be tougher. Monteverde says that they made the right decision to bide their time. “We wanted to make sure that we did things right especially in post production. We thought that the hard part of it was during the principal shoot but we realized that the post production stage was even harder because of the complexity we put in CG (computer graphics) and in the grading stage of the film.”

The makers of Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles also insisted on giving the aswang experience a completely Pinoy flavor. Relates Dave Yu, visual effects director: “We wanted a different take on the aswang designs and stay away from what has been done before especially in Western movies. We don’t want our creatures to look like werewolves or vampires.”

The film’s production designer Peter Collias who has worked on Hollywood productions like The Matrix, Moulin Rouge, Dark City, 10,000 BC and Ghost Rider believes that everyone involved in this landmark horror movie deserves a pat on the back. “We have fused great live action in a beautifully fabricated environment. We have managed to create strange and wonderful backdrops for the story to take place in. I also feel the relentless attention to detail regarding the modeling, texture and animating of the creatures will set a new benchmark for monsters design in the Philippines.”

All things considered, Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles strengthens the long-held belief in the ingenuity and creativeness of Filipino artists. “The effort of creating a digital world from scratch, the amazing creatures and the cohesion between live animation and CG will set this film apart from others of its kind.”

Go see Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles when it opens in a theater near you on October 17. For more information on the movie, check out its website at www.theaswangchronicles.com.

YOKE Cotton Candy and Holiday Collection 2012

I started to love YOKE Shirtcessories when I and my friends (Gilda, Gian and Ash) were looking for outfits and accessories which will be used for Lovi Poe’s pictorial with Philippine Daily Inquirer (Sunday Inquirer Magazine).

When we visited Enrico Carado’s shop, I saw fabulous accessories made of cloth! At that moment, I fell in love with the orange and nude combo which I wore several times.

Look. My dear love, Lovi Poe is wearing a piece from YOKE.

And I wore another piece at the Cosmopolitan event.

As of now, I have 3 pieces (from the former collections) of YOKE Shirtccessories. They are very useful especially now that it’s rainy season —- time for layering! It’s a fabulous alternative for scarves.

I am so happy that they released their newest collections: Cotton Candy and Holiday Collection 2012. Congrats Kzar!

Preview Ball 2012

I am not a fashion expert nor a fashion icon. But I guess this event is one of the highlights in the Fashion Industry. Preview Ball gathers the fashionistas from all walks of life.

My PR friend gave me this invitation. Cute pala ang combination ng Fashion and Sports! Bongga.

I enjoyed the party seeing people whom I love. Bumped into Solenn Heusaff. She introduced her boyfriend who’s a hottie. Diba? Perfect match! At binati ko rin ang kanyang kasexyhan! My golly!

Also, I saw Belle Daza. She is part of GMA’s Afternoon Prime Faithfully and naghohost rin ng Eat Bulaga. Sorry. I don’t have a decent photo of her.

One of the best dressed for 2012 is non-other than Lovi Poe! Scene stealer as always si Lovi. She is wearing Charina Sarte. Infairness! She’s one of the fashionistas na love ko!

When Lovi arrived. The program started na! Yahooo!
