May 17, 2013 - GMA’s premier drama actress Lovi Poe was warmly welcomed by GMA Network officers as she inked an exclusive contract with GMA Network Inc.
Acknowledged as today’s multi-awarded actress, Lovi feels very excited to renew her ties with GMA where she launched her career in 2006 with Bakekang and topbilled several Kapuso programs Legacy and Yesterday’s Bride. “It’s nice to be back home,” she said.
During the contract signing, Atty. Gozon expressed his gladness on Lovi as a loyal Kapuso. “When you look at her and watch her perform, you’ll see kung ano yung nakita namin… isang magaling na artista.”
On the other hand, Ms. Lilybeth acknowledges Lovi’s prowess in drama. ”Natutuwa kami. This is where she started, where she grew up and developed her talents. She has a series on primetime coming up. That’s what she’ll do first because she’s a dramatic actress. That’s where she’s good at.”
Present in the contract signing were (from left) GMA Entertainment TV’s Officer-in-Charge Lilybeth G. Rasonable, Lovi Poe, GMA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, GMA AVP for Alternative Productions Gigi Santiago-Lara and Leo Dominguez (Lovi’s manager).
Our dear friend, Ate Joreen, opened her restaurant in Marikina and being the supportive friend we visited her place last Friday.
The Seafood Pasta is good! Even before she opened her restaurant, she have been our supplier of breakfast in GMA. She cooks pasta for most of us!
My next favorite is the Red Velvet cake! So yummy! If only I’m not on a diet, I will eat more than one slice. Hahaha!
Time to post a photo on instagram! Check out her chandelier and the pillows. So chic! The ambience is also good for dinner dates!
What are you waiting for? Visit her place and try the good food! =)
GMA News TV Channel 11 is proud to announce it has just won its first George Foster Peabody Award for the documentary program Reel Time.
The Peabody Awards – considered the Oscars of broadcast and electronic journalism – recognizes excellence, distinguished achievement and meritorious public service.
The winning episode of Reel Time entitled Salat (Bone Dry) is described in the Peabody website as an “unflinching portrait of a woman with six mouths to feed which personifies a brutal statistic: two out of every ten Filipino children are malnourished.” Although a first for the fledgling news channel GMA News TV, it is the third George Foster Peabody for GMA News and Public Affairs … as well as being the third for the Philippines.
Salat begins with a powerful scene: ten-year old Mary Rose running around the neighborhood, trying to borrow soap for her bath. Her family is so poor they cannot even afford to buy their own soap. Mary Rose goes to school that day without breakfast or lunch money and falls asleep in class from hunger.
“There are many other malnourished children like Mary Rose who need government attention. This award encourages us as documentary filmmakers to do a better job in telling these important stories,” says Reel Time Program Manager Nowell Cuanang (already a Peabody winner for previously directing I-Witness’ Ambulansyang de Paa.)
Executive Producer Sharon Masula thanks all the viewers who began helping Mary Rose and her family after watching Salat, “Because of the viewers, we feel there is greater value in the documentaries we produce.”
The producers will be accepting the Peabody Award in a ceremony to be held at the Waldorf Astoria in New York this May 20, 2013. The award-winning documentary program Reel Time airs every Sunday night only on GMA News TV Channel 11.
